1. Who we are

Bellas Gelato (“we”, “us”) makes and sells artisan gelato and sorbets and provides gelato cart services for events. We are based at 16 Haynes Street, Witpoortjie, Roodepoort, 1724, South Africa. We are the responsible party for personal information collected through this website, as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information we collect

  • Order details: your name, mobile number, email address, delivery address and order notes.
  • Event bookings: event date, venue, guest numbers and preferences you share with us.
  • Messages: what you send us through our forms, WhatsApp or email.
  • Technical data: basic device and browser information needed to run the site.

We only collect what we need to fulfil your order, booking or enquiry.

3. How we use it

  • To process, deliver and support your orders and bookings.
  • To contact you about your order, delivery window or event.
  • To send marketing, but only if you opt in. You can opt out at any time.
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

4. Sharing

We never sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, such as our payment gateway, delivery partners and website host, and only as far as they need it. They are required to keep it confidential and secure.

5. Payments

Card and Instant EFT payments are processed by a PCI DSS compliant payment gateway. We do not see or store your full card details.

6. Cookies and local storage

This site uses your browser’s local storage to remember your cart and your recent orders on your device. Embedded content from Instagram, Facebook and Google Maps may set their own cookies under their own policies.

7. Keeping it safe

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. We keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as the law requires.

8. Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to its processing, or withdraw consent for marketing. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforeg.org.za).
